Carta Azul Taqueria and Ceviche Bar is Baja California cuisine inspired by the intensity of the sun, sea and soil of “the Baja.”
Established in 2012 on a busy street in New York city, locals have made the “Azul” one of the busiest taquerias in all of New York.
It’s a place where friends meet and unwind over authentic tacos, fresh horchatas and ceviches, cold draft Mexican cervezas
and of course, signature margaritas.
At Carta Azul Taqueria and Ceviche Bar in Chelsea, we infuse the Baja into our locally sourced ingredients, restaurant décor and friendly smile to inspire a laid-back intensity only the Baja can offer. Our kitchen and dining areas were built with reclaimed materials where possible or trucked across the border of San Ysidro straight to Chelsea to bring you a truly authentic Baja experience.
We believe in using only the freshest ingredients available to create the flavors and tastes of Baja. From our organic produce,
meats, line-caught mahi-mahi and ocean caught shrimp, we create from scratch every day fresh salsas and sauces, tamales and
enchiladas and so much more. There are no canned or frozen foods, nor microwaves at Carta Azul. We make each taco on our
authentic open flame grill and gas fired comal with love and a smile.
